Oswaldo “Paqueta“ is one of the most recognizable figures in Jiu Jitsu and is famed for having the largest archive of Jiu Jitsu and MMA tapes in the World and for being the best friend of the late Great Master Carlson Gracie. In the late 1950′s and 1960′s he was a fierce Gracie Academy competitor. Having a Judo and Power lifting background gave him physical strength that was famed in Rio de Janeiro in those days.

Today is a truly sad day for jiu jitsu, as the Black Belt in Judo and Red in Bjj - died of a heart attack earlier this morning.  The charismatic and legendary “Paqueta” was instrumental in many aspects of Jiu-Jitsu, he was a pioneer in filming competition matches.
